Patricia L. Masek

Patricia L. Masek passed away in her home on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

She was born Vlasta Ludmila Migl to Anton Migl and Ludmila Jasek Migl on March 1, 1935 at their farm near Praha. She was baptized, confirmed and married in her lifelong church of St. Mary’s in Praha. She attended St. Mary’s School through 9th grade and worked on the family farm. On Oct. 24, 1954, she married George Masek. They had five children: Michael, Tim, Chris, Peggy and Roger.

Pat was a mother and homemaker for many years, and worked as a bookkeeper for Smith Farms and Cal-Maine Foods from 1974-2011. She also worked extra odd jobs, including babysitting, to provide for her family. She volunteered in her young life for many school activities in Flatonia, and throughout her life she volunteered extensively for St. Mary’s Church in Praha, the KJZT, and most recently the Catholic Daughters. Pat helped all who needed it, whether it was a visit at the nursing home or taking home-baked goods and meals to friends who were sick or mourning. She loved baking for people, and especially loved baking for the Praha and Moulton church picnics as well as many others.

Pat lived most of her 90 years in Praha, and her joy was her family. She is survived by her children Michael and Katrina Masek of Houston, Tim and Donna Masek of Flatonia, Chris and Tina Masek of Flatonia, Peggy and Darrell Mica of Austin, and Roger and Cindy Masek of New Caney. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, sister Bea Krejci of Shiner, and sister-in-law Edna Migl of Cistern.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Dorothy, Olga, Henry, Helen and Arnold.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Pat’s memory to St. Mary’s Church in Praha or the charity of one’s choice.
