Robert ‘Bobby’ Ray Pavlik

Robert “Bobby” Ray Pavlik went to his final resting place on Monday, Feb. 14, 2022.

He was born to Adolf and Amelia (Kunetka) Pavlik on Dec. 21, 1943 in Weimar. He married Patricia D. Hepner on Sept. 16, 1972. He was a devoted man, not only to his family, but to the community of Schulenburg as well. He spent 43 years delivering mail for the United States Postal Service – time spent between Houston and Schulenburg. He also served 33 years for the Schulenburg Police Department as a peace officer. Lastly, he was co-owner of Ben’s Gun Store with his brother Bennie Pavlik for over 50 years.

“He will be forever in our hearts and we will all miss him dearly,” his family writes.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Patricia Pavlik of Schulenburg; three daughters, Peggy Frye of Schulenburg, Connie Sue Tofel and husband Michael of Schulenburg, and Sherry Ulbrich and husband Joseph of Weimar; grandchildren, Juliane, James and Samuel Frye of Schulenburg, Amanda and Agnes Tofel of Schulenburg, and Raegan, Camryn and Kasyn Ulbrich of Weimar; one sister, Marilyn Treybig and husband Daniel of Houston; sister-in-law, Lillian Pavlik of Schulenburg; and brother-in-law, W.C. Duncan of Livingston.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Amelia Pavlik; brothers, Erwin, Jimmy and Bennie Pavlik; and sister, Irene Duncan.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 18, 2022 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Schulenburg. Officiating was Pastor David Thompson, and soloist was Kari Ginn. Interment took place in the Schulenburg City Cemetery. Pallbearers included Drew Nidey, Jason Strickland, Randy Mican, Mike Wagner, Allen Matus and Justin Koehne. Named as honorary pallbearers were nephews, sons-in-law and member of the Schulenburg Police Department.

Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The family requests that donations in his memory be made to First Baptist Church of Schulenburg, Schulenburg Police Department or Fayette County Deputy Santa Program.
