2-26-1948 to 8-21-2024Carolyn Genzer Friend was born in Schulenburg on Feb. 26, 1948, to Alfons Joseph Genzer and Betty Genzer Walchar. She grew up there with her only sibling Alfons “Al” Genzer. Al married Margaret “Bunny” Genzer and they had two boys, Anthony Genzer and Nicholas Genzer.

Dolores (Kahlich) Guenther Vacek, 95, of La Grange, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024.Dolores was born to Alfred and Emma Kahlich on Dec. 19, 1928, at their new home in Schulenburg. She attended St. Rose Catholic School.

Colton James Wendell was born to Jenifer (Kaase Heintz) and Mark Wendell on April 10, 2011 in San Antonio. He passed peacefully on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024.Although Colton was unable to speak, he communicated so much love, understanding, and joy for life.

Larry Henneke, 69, of Schulenburg, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024 in Schulenburg.He was born on Oct. 31, 1954 to Oswald Henneke and Laura (Schneider) Henneke in Sealy. On Dec. 3, 1995 he married Kathy Shimek. Larry worked as a rancher for many years.

James Stanzel was born on March 15, 1927, to Edward and Stephanie Stanzel. Born and raised in Schulenburg, James attended Middle Creek School through age 15 and then worked on the family farm.

Bedrich George “Benny” Klekar Jr. of Seguin passed away on Thursday, June 27, 2024. He was born Jan. 1, 1943, in Shiner to Bedrich Sr. and Ludmilla (Randuch) Klekar.Benny was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bryan Douglas Klekar; and in-laws, Mansvet and Rosie (Billeck) Vana.
