Weimar Knights of Columbus Chicken Fried Steak Dinner
Weimar Knights of Columbus Council 2153 will serve a chicken fried steak dinner with sides on Sunday, Sept. 25 starting at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center, N. Center Street, Weimar. The drive-thru-only plates will be $12 each and 650 plates will be available.
Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish Festival, Hostyn
Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish, Hostyn, will hold its festival at the church grounds on Sunday, Oct. 2. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. outdoors under a tent. A fried chicken/sausage meal with trimmings will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a drive-thru line from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Plates will be $12 each.
The auction will begin at 1 p.m. There will be a country store, cake/plant wheels, silent auction, games, bingo at 1:30 p.m., magic show at 3 p.m. hamburgers, etc. Music will be provided by Czech Melody Masters (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and Dujka Brothers (3:30 to 7:30 p.m.). Schulenburg VFD Auxiliary Hamburger Steak Dinner
The Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will serve a take-home-only hamburger steak dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the KC Hall. The plates ($12 each) will include hamburger steak with gravy, twice-baked potatoes, peas and carrots, corn casserole, roll and cookie.

Hallettsville Sacred Heart HSA Apple Strudel Bake
The Hallettsville Sacred Heart HSA will hold its apple strudel bake on Saturday, Oct. 8. Cost is $22 baked and $18 unbaked.
