Hallettsville Market Days will be held on Saturday, Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hallettsville KC Hall (rain or shine). Shopping is offered at a mix of indoor, covered pavilion and tree-lined locations.
There will be wood, metal & glass art; specialty food items; barbecue tools & knives; live plants; furniture & home décor; jewelry & purses; etc.

Catholic Daughters Fried Chicken Dinner
Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Rose 1597, will hold its 27th annual fried chicken dinner with all the trimmings on Sunday, Feb. 16 at the KC Hall starting at 11 a.m. (dine-in or take-home).
Plates are $10 for adults and $4.50 for children under 12, with drive-thru adult take-home plates only. There will also be a silent auction, country walk and sweepstakes.
Weimar Knights of Columbus Chicken Fried Steak Dinner
The Weimar Knights of Columbus will serve a chicken fried steak dinner on Sunday, Feb. 16 at the St. Michael Catholic Church family center in Weimar. Cost is $10 each for the drive-thru-only plates.
Vsetin Czech Moravian Brethren Church Soup & Chili Supper
Vsetin Czech Moravian Brethren Church, 6 miles northeast of Hallettsville on FM 2314, will hold its annual chicken noodle soup and chili supper on Saturday, Feb. 22 starting at 5 p.m. in the Vsetin Educational Building. Dine-in will be all-you-can-eat. Also served will be homemade bread, kolaches and chicken salad sandwiches. Soup and chili to-go will be available. Free-will donations will be accepted.
KC Barbecue Pork Steak Dinner and STBTC Blood Drive
A drive-thru-only barbecue pork steak dinner will be served on Sunday, Feb. 23 starting at 10:45 a.m. at the KC Hall by the Schulenburg Knights of Columbus. Plates ($10 each) will include barbecue pork steak, vegetable rice, green beans and pickle. No reservations are necessary.
In addition, the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center will have a blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon on Feb. 23 at the KC Hall parking lot and each donor will receive a free meal provided by the KCs. For more information, contact Ed Kusy at 979-743-5879.
‘Best Little Quilt Show in Texas’
The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild’s 23rd annual “Best Little Quilt Show in Texas” will be held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28-29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the KC Community Center, 109 South Brown St., La Grange. Admission will be $8 per person.

Weimar Knights of Columbus Fried Catfish Dinners during Lent
Weimar Knights of Columbus Council 2153 will serve fried catfish plates each Friday of Lent – Feb. 28, March 6, 13, 20, 27 and April 3 – at the St. Michael Family Center in Weimar from 5 to 7 p.m. or until sold out. Cost will be $10 per drive-thru plate or $13 all-you-can-eat inside. In addition, the Catholic Daughters will be selling desserts.
