‘Best Little Quilt Show in Texas’
The Colorado Valley Quilt Guild’s 23rd annual “Best Little Quilt Show in Texas” will be held Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28-29 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the KC Community Center in La Grange. Admission will be $8 per person. For more information, visit cvcquiltguild.com.
Weimar Knights of Columbus Fried Catfish Dinners during Lent
Weimar Knights of Columbus Council 2153 will serve fried catfish plates each Friday of Lent – Feb. 28, March 6, 13, 20, 27 and April 3 – at the St. Michael Family Center in Weimar from 5 to 7 p.m. or until sold out. Cost will be $10 per drive-thru plate or $13 all-you-can-eat inside. In addition, the Catholic Daughters will be selling desserts.
St. Rose Spring Festival
The St. Rose spring festival will be held on Sunday, March 1 at the KC Hall. A turkey dinner with trimmings will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. costing $10 for adults and $4 for children, with adult drive-thru plates available. There will also be a live auction at 11:30 a.m., cake walk, music, surprise packages, and drawing at 1 p.m.
Ammannsville KJT Building Fund Benefit Dinner
A dinner benefitting the Ammannsville KJT building fund will be held Sunday, March 8 starting at 11 a.m. at the Ammannsville KJT Hall.
The drive-thru-only plates with half a BBQ chicken and trimmings will cost $10 each. There will be no advance sales – first-come, first-served.
St. Rose of Lima Catholic School Gala
The St. Rose Gala, with the theme “Havana Nights,” will be held on Saturday, March 21 at High Hill. A social/happy hour will begin at 6 p.m., a Cuban-inspired dinner by Callisto Culinary will be served at 7 p.m. and a cigar experience by Old Stogie Company will be at 8 p.m. There will also be door prizes, games, DJ, and live/silent auctions.
Cost is $50 per ticket (must be 21 and over). Tickets are pre-sale only and available from the St. Rose School office at 979-743-3080, Casi Wilbanks at 281-685-4410 or Holly Czmiskey at 979-561-6018. Attire is Cuban.
