Weimar Knights of Columbus Chicken Fried Steak Dinner
Weimar KC Council 2153 will serve a chicken fried steak dinner on Sunday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. until sold out at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center in Weimar. Cost is $14 for the drive-thru-only plates.
St. Rose HSA Pigs-in-a-Blanket, Ham & Cheese Rolls, Cinnamon Rolls
The St. Rose School HSA is taking orders for fresh-baked pigs-in-ablanket, ham and cheese rolls, and cinnamon rolls. Cost is $25 per dozen and $15 for a half dozen. Christmas Decorating Contest
The Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce is seeking entries in its Christmas decorating contest, which is free to enter. Entries must have a Christmas theme and be within a five-mile radius of town. To register, contact the Chamber by Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 4 p.m. Judging will take place on Friday, Dec. 13 between 6 and 9 p.m. The Chamber office is located at 618 North Main St. and the phone number is 979-743-4514.
St. Rose School’s ‘Christmas Around the World’
“Christmas Around the World” benefitting St. Rose of Lima Catholic School will be held on Saturday, Dec. 14 at the Schulenburg Hall.
A children’s program will begin at 4:30 p.m., with a German auction starting 30 minutes after the program. A beef stew dinner (dine-in or take-out) will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. The International Food Court featuring foods from around the world will open at 5:30 p.m. There will also be a children’s carnival with inflatable playground, carnival games and cake walk. Schulenburg Shopping Days
The Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce is promoting “Schulenburg Shopping Days” from Friday, Nov. 29 thru Friday, Dec. 20. To participate, spend at least $20 at five stores and receive a “shopping card.” The shopping card should be turned in to the Chamber office to be entered in a drawing for cash prizes. Christmas Dinner For Those Who Are Alone
The annual Christmas dinner for those who are alone will be held on Christmas Day, Wednesday, Dec. 25, from 11 a.m. until noon at the Schulenburg Hall, 405 South St.
Plates will be drive-thru, or the homebound can call the CCA Center, 979-743-4036, or Sheila Brossmann, 979-743-3576. RSVP is required by Sunday, Dec. 22. There will be a limit of two plates per family. The meal is sponsored by the Schulenburg KCs and volunteers.
