KCs Annual Barbecue Chicken Dinner
The Knights of Columbus will hold their annual barbecue chicken dinner on Sunday, Jan. 19 at the Schulenburg Hall starting at 10:30 a.m. or when the food is ready to be served (whichever is first). The drive-thru-only plates ($13 each) will include a half barbecue chicken, buttered potatoes, pinto beans and pickle.
A public dance featuring the Czechaholics will be held from 2 to 5:30 p.m. costing $10 per person.
In addition, the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center will have a blood drive in conjunction with the dinner. Each donor will get a free plate provided by the KCs.
Texas State Domino Tournament
The 73rd Texas State Domino Tournament will be held on Sunday, Jan. 19 at the KC Hall in Hallettsville. Registration will be from 7 to 9 a.m. and double-elimination partner play will start at 9 a.m. For the first two settings of losers, a loser consolation tourney will start immediately.

Wild Game Supper & Big Buck Contest Results
A wild game supper will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the Hallettsville KC Hall, with the doors opening at 5 p.m. Crawfish, deer, duck, hog, birds, chili, sausage, duck gumbo, beans, wild rice, etc. will be served.
Hall admission of $13 includes the meal. The evening’s activities will also include Big Buck Contest results. Monster trophies will be displayed, commercial merchant exhibits will be set up under the pavilion, and prizes will be given away. Full camper spaces are available. Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department Stew Supper
The Schulenburg VFD will serve a boneless beef stew supper on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the KC Hall. Cost is $13 each for the drive-thru-only plates. Tickets are available from any firefighter, or at Grahmann’s True Value, Schulenburg Printing, Hrncir Oil, Fayette Savings Bank, Fayetteville Bank or the Sticker. Deadline to buy tickets is Monday, Feb. 3. A limited amount of tickets will be sold at the hall.
