The Schulenburg Farmers Market will be open on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Railroad Park in the 500th block of North Main St. Interested vendors can contact the Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce at 979-743-4514 to reserve a spot – there is no booth fee.
Stray Gathering Cowboy Church Fall Roundup
Stray Gathering Cowboy Church, 211 FM 2237, Muldoon, will hold a fall roundup on Saturday, Oct. 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A meal of brisket, salads, dessert and drink will be served for $12. A live auction from 1 to 4 p.m. will include cowboy decor/art, garden items, furniture, vintage, etc. A silent auction will be held all day until 3 p.m. There will also be a cake/dessert walk, heifer drawing and kids’ bucket drawing. A kids’corral will have a bouncy house, dummy roping, fish pond, etc.
Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish Festival, Hostyn
Queen of the Holy Rosary Parish, Hostyn, will hold its festival at the church grounds on Sunday, Oct. 5, celebrating the 194th anniversary of the first Mass at Hostyn. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. outdoors under a tent. A fried chicken/sausage meal with trimmings will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a drive-thru line from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Plates will be $15 each.
The auction will begin at 1 p.m.There will be a country store, cake/plant wheels, silent auction, games, bingo at 1:30 p.m., magic show at 3 p.m., hamburgers, etc. Music will be provided by Czech Melody Masters (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and Dujka Brothers (3:30 to 7 p.m.). Sacred Heart Parish-Flatonia Turkey & Dressing Dinner
Sacred Heart Parish in Flatonia will serve a turkey and dressing dinner on Sunday, Oct. 5 starting at 10:30 a.m. (dine-in or drive-thru).
Plates ($15 each) will include turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce and dessert. Serving inside the hall will continue until 1 p.m. Prior to the meal, Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Public Rosary Rally
The St. Anne Society and St. Joseph Society of St. Mary’s Parish-High Hill will host a public rosary rally on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. at the downtown gazebo on North Main Street.
Sacred Heart Band Tamale Sale
The Sacred Heart-Hallettsville band will hold a tamale sale from Thursday, Oct. 9 to Monday, Oct. 27. Cost is $12 for a dozen tamales and $10 for a quart of salsa. City-Wide Garage Sale
A city-wide garage sale will be held on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 17-18. Maps will be available at the Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce office starting Wednesday, Oct. 15 and on its Facebook page. To be placed on the map, call the Chamber at 979-743-4514 by Friday, Oct. 10.
Zion Lutheran Church Stew Supper
The 33rd annual Zion Lutheran Church pre-deer season stew supper will be held Monday, Oct. 27 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran parking lot on Keuper St. The drive-thru-only meal will include stew, bread, crackers and dessert. The $12 tickets (presale only) are available at the church office or Sticker office.
