Letters-to-Santa Dropoff at Chamber Office

The Chamber of Commerce invites youngsters to drop off their letters to Santa in the mailbox on the Chamber office porch through Tuesday, Dec. 16. The Chamber will have Santa reply to the letters.

Crossroads Christian Fellowship Meal for Families in Need 

Crossroads Christian Fellowship will hold a “grab-and-go” meal for families in need, with voucher pick-up on Thursday, Dec. 11 and meal pick-up on Thursday, Dec. 18 from 6 to 7 p.m. at 2310 US Highway 90 about three miles west of Weimar. For pickup, the voucher must be brought and each individual needs to be present. There is a limit of four meals per household.

St. Rose School HSA Pigs-in-the-Blanket and Cinnamon Rolls 

The St. Rose School HSA is taking orders for pigs-in-the-blanket and cinnamon rolls. Cost is $25 per dozen and $15 for a half dozen. To order, call or text 979-743-4987 or 979-561-6815 or call the school at 979-743-3080.

They will be baked fresh on Thursday, Dec. 11 and Friday, Dec. 12, and must be picked up from St. Rose School by 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12.

St. Rose School’s ‘Christmas Around the World’

“Christmas Around the World” benefitting St. Rose of Lima Catholic School will be held on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Schulenburg Hall.

A children’s program will begin at 4:30 p.m., with a German auction starting 30 minutes after the program. A beef stew dinner (dine-in or take-out) will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. The International Food Court featuring foods from around the world will open at 5:30 p.m. There will also be a children’s carnival with inflatable playground, carnival games and cake walk. Christmas Program by First Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir 

The First Baptist Church sanctuary choir will present“The Glorious Story of Christmas” on Sunday, Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m., with food and fellowship afterward. All are invited to enjoy the beautiful sounds of Christmas, good company, delicious treats and holiday cheer.

Holiday Decorating Contest

The Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce is seeking entries in its holiday decorating contest. There will be residential and commercial divisions, and entries must be within a five-mile radius of town. Residential winners will get cash prizes. Judging will take place on Friday, Dec. 19 between 6 and 9 p.m. To enter, call the Chamber office at 979-743-4514.

Shop Local Days

The Schulenburg Chamber of Commerce is promoting “Shop Local Days” thru Friday, Dec. 19.

To participate, spend at least $20 at five stores and receive a “shopping card,” which should then be turned in to the Chamber office to be entered in a drawing for cash prizes. Christmas Dinner For Those Who Are Alone

The annual Christmas dinner for those who are alone will be held on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25, from 11 a.m. until noon at the Schulenburg Hall, 405 South St. (available to Schulenburg residents only).

Plates will be served at the hall or the homebound can call Sheila Brossmann at 979-743-3576. There will be no drive-thru. RSVP is required by Saturday, Dec. 20. There will be a limit of two plates per family. The meal is sponsored by the Schulenburg Lions Club and Schulenburg Knights of Columbus.

Sticker Will Not Be Published Dec. 25

The Sticker will not have an issue on Thursday, Dec. 25, and staff will be on vacation from Monday, Dec. 22 through Friday, Dec. 26.

Anything that needs to be published before the end of the year should be submitted by Friday, Dec. 12 for the Thursday, Dec. 18 issue, which will be the Sticker’s annual Christmas edition.

Senior Connections New Year’s Eve Fundraiser

Senior Connections will hold its 3rd annual New Year’s Eve fundraiser on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. at Freyburg Hall. There will be cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, whiskey wall, live auction, dinner, music by Broken Spoke Band, champagne toast and fireworks at midnight.
