Weimar KCs Fried Catfish Dinners During Lent

Weimar Knights of Columbus Council 2153 will hold a drive-thru fried catfish dinner each Friday of Lent – Feb. 19, Feb. 26, March 5, March 12, March 19 and March 26 – from 5 to 7 p.m. or until sold out at the St. Michael Catholic Church Family Center in Weimar. Cost will be $11 per plate. The Catholic Daughters will be selling desserts.

Schulenburg Little League Fried Fish Dinner

The drive-thru-only Little League fried fish dinner will be held on Friday, March 26 from 4:30 p.m. until sold out at High Hill Hall. Cost is $10 per plate (no presale tickets needed). The plates will include fried fish, beans, coleslaw, hush puppies and tartar sauce. For more information, call Greg Janda at 979-966-3755.

KCs Barbecue Pork Steak Dinner and KC/CDA Blood Drive

The Knights of Columbus will serve a drive-thru barbecue pork steak dinner on Sunday, Feb. 28 at the KC Hall starting at 10:30 a.m. or when all food is ready to serve. The meal will include pork steak, vegetable rice, green beans and peach. Cost is $10 per plate (no reservations necessary). 

In conjunction with the dinner, the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center will hold a blood drive at the hall from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. by appointment only. St. Rose Spring Festival

The St. Rose spring festival will be held on Sunday, March 7 at the Schulenburg Hall. A barbecue chicken dinner with giblet rice, pinto beans and coleslaw will be served starting at 10:30 a.m. or when ready. The drive-thru-only plates will be $10 each. There will also be an online auction, bake sale and drawing.

Financial Workshop at First Baptist Church 

First Baptist Church of Schulenburg will hold a financial workshop on Sunday, March 7 from 1 to 3 p.m. The workshop will be led by Matthew Paul, a Dave Ramsey preferred financial coach. The Dave Ramsey book and other materials will be provided, with lunch at noon for those attending. The workshop is open to the public. Cost is $39 per person or $49 per family.
