Mary Demel was honored for her 50 years of membership in the Schulenburg Garden Club at the luncheon on Sept. 2.
American flags were placed in clear bottles on each table to carry out the theme “Our Labor Day Picnic.”
The centerpiece was a tribute to Mary Demel and included a bouquet of pink roses, a photo of Demel taken at a flower show and other items.
