    The Schulenburg Literary Club met on Jan. 9 at noon in the Schulenburg Public Library.

    Hostesses Melinda Barneycastle, Natalie Horak, Marilyn Mokwa, Veronica Smith and Suzette Surman served a delicious luncheon of Fancy Nancy Chicken Salad Sandwiches, Cranberry Kelly Chicken Salad Sandwiches and Classic Carol Chicken Salad Sandwiches along with a spinach salad and assorted chips. The dessert bar featured Italian cream cake, German chocolate cake and chocolate chip cookies. The meeting room was festively decorated with a New Year’s theme.

    Two guests, Mark Elvig, candidate for Fayette County attorney, and Ed Janecka, former Fayette County judge, were welcomed.
