John C. Landa Jr., “The Schulenbirder,” sends this photo of an American Kestrel, taken Saturday, Sept. 25 off Steiber Road. The Kestrel is North America’s smallest falcon, and many can be seen in the Schulenburg area, except during the summer months. They feed on small mammals and insects.
