Volunteers with the League of Women Voters of South Central Texas recently picked up trash and collected recyclables along their Adopt-a-Highway route just west of Schulenburg on Highway 90. They collected several large-sized bags of highway refuse and one 20-gallon-sized bag of aluminum cans and plastic water bottles along with two tires. Thanks go to the Fayette County Precinct 4 Road & Bridge Department and Fayette County Recycling Center in Schulenburg for their support with traffic alert lights and for providing recycling collection. Thanks also go to motorists who use caution when volunteers are out collecting and cleaning. The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas is striving to make this rural community a cleaner and more beautiful place.
