American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary will hold their next monthly meetings on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at the American Legion Home in Schulenburg beginning at 7 p.m.
All members and potential members are invited to attend.
‘Get Ready to Vote’
Everyone is invited to join the League of Women Voters of South Central Texas on Saturday, Aug. 8 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Schulenburg Public Library, 310 Simpson St.
Those attending can check or update their voter registration, learn voter ID rules and try a hands-on voting machine demo with Fayette County Elections Administrator Donna Macik.ASpanish-speaking volunteer will be available, and kids can vote in their own ‘Vote for Your Favorite Texas Animal’ mock election.
This event is free and familyfriendly; no appointment needed.
