SCHULENBURG 4-H

The Schulenburg 4-H Club invites potential members to “pop in” to its first meeting of the 2026-27 club year and see what 4-H has to offer.

The meeting will be held on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. at the Schulenburg Expo Center. Members are asked to bring a donation for Led + Fed for the club’s montly community service project.

FAYETTE COUNTY RETIRED TEACHERS

Fayette County Retired Teachers Association (FCRTA) will have its first meeting of the 2026-27 year on Monday, Sept. 14 at the New Life Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at 1215 N. Von Minden St. in La Grange.

An ice cream social, a time to visit and catch up on summer events while savoring delicious ice cream, will begin at 1:45 p.m. followed by the meeting at 2 p.m.

Anyone who attends this meeting will be on track to win a $20 HEB gift card. FCRTA members who attend all five regular business meetings (September, November, January, February and June) are eligible to participate in this drawing.

At the meeting, new members will be introduced, plans for the year will be decided, and FCRTA will end summer with a beach ball!

Fayette County Republican Women

The public is invited to attend the Fayette County Republican Women general meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club, 575 Country Club Drive in La Grange.

Check-in begins at 10:30 a.m. Lunch is available for $20.

Program speaker will be Ben Crockett, a policy scholar for the Texas Public Policy Foundation. He also participates on the Government Reform & Oversight Coalition. Crockett will speak on taxpayer-funded lobbying, one of the Republican Party of Texas’ legislative priorities.
