NAVIDAD VALLEY CATTLEWOMEN

Navidad Valley CattleWomen have set their monthly business meeting for Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at Formosa Chinese Restaurant, 2208 State Hwy. 71, Columbus. The meeting will begin with a Dutch-treat supper.

The guest speaker is Melissa Barton, inspector for Agriculture & Consumer Protection for the Texas Department of Agriculture.

Additionally, members will discuss scholarships for 2024 and hear reports on beef promotion and education activities conducted throughout the year.

Guests are always welcome and ladies interested in joining are encouraged to attend and learn more.

The Navidad Valley Cattle-Women is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes the beef industry. The Navidad Valley local works to support local youth with scholarships and provide quality information on the industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet.

AMERICAN LEGION & AUXILIARY

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary will hold their next monthly meetings on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the American Legion Home in Schulenburg beginning at 7 p.m.

All members and prospective members are invited to attend.

Fayette County Czech Heritage Society

The Fayette County Czech Heritage Society meeting will be held on Sunday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. at Texas Czech Heritage & Cultural Center in La Grange.

Members are asked to bring one or two meaningful Czech souvenirs or artifacts and share a memory about them, and also bring a favorite snack.

New potential members and/or guests are invited to attend.
