The Shorthorns never led last Tuesday at the Sports Complex until Bryce Stoever slid into home plate with the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Pulling out a 6-5 win over Weimar put Schulenburg ahead of the Wildcats in District 29-2A. The Horns, who had beaten the ’Cats by double digits in their earlier district meeting, trailed Ganado, Flatonia, and Shiner in the standings.
