The Lady Horns hosted two tough opponents last week and came away with a pair of wins to improve to 20-12 on the season.
After a dominating performance in the first set on Tuesday, Sept. 12, Schulenburg needed four games to defeat Lago Vista.Against Poth on Friday, Sept. 15, the first two sets went back and forth before the Lady Horns pulled out two-point victories. They opened up a ninepoint lead midway through the third game and held off a Pirette rally to complete the 3-0 sweep.
Emmrie Marx paced Schulenburg with 28 kills in the seven sets last week. Jessalyn Gipson followed with 23. Keaton Walker served five aces against Lago Vista and Landry Zapalac registered four aces versus Poth. Dig leaders over the two matches were: Kieryn Adams (53), Madison Kunschick (24), and Avery Helms (19).
