The St. Rose Cardinals were on the road for the third straight week and defeated the Flatonia Bulldogs 22-8 last Thursday, Sept. 28.
The Cardinals received the kick to start the game and put together a time-consuming, nine-play drive taking over five minutes. Denver Carr had the longest play during the series with a 14-yard run. Great blocking on the edges came from Brock Seger, Chris Campos, and Adam Schramek. Carr scored from 4 yards out but the conversion was failed.
Flatonia’s first possession ended in a turnover on downs as the St. Rose defense was attacking from the first play. Ends Rilee Durfey and Brett Hollas did a great job of containment all game long. Seger recorded a sack on third down and Max Hernandez ended the drive with a tackle on fourth down.
