St. Rose starts season with win over St. Philip

The St. Rose Cardinals traveled to El Campo last Wednesday, Sept. 13 to open up their 2023 season and brought home a 36-22 victory over the St. Philip Pioneers. The Pioneers started the game with a nice six-play drive but it ended on a William Eudy interception over the middle.

The junior varsity Shorthorns dropped to 2-1 on the season after a 34-0 loss against Poth last Thursday, Sept. 14. The Horns trailed 14-0 at halftime. Offensive standouts for Schulenburg were Connor Lichnovsky, Mason Kunschick, Cody Hall, and Ian Reeves.
