A financing resolution with ACE Sports was adopted by unanimous vote of the Schulenburg ISD Board of Trustees at its regular meeting last week.Superintendent Lee Hafley said the document outlines SISD’s monthly payments over five years starting in November with an annual total of $52,552.

The Texas Workforce Commission released labor market statistics for July last week and they showed that the statewide seasonally-adjusted unemployment rose 0.1 of a percent to 4.5.Fayette County’s rate (not seasonally adjusted) decreased from 4.6 percent in June to 4.4 percent last month.

Council approves bond election for City Hall 3-2

Since a petition ended one funding mechanism to renovate City Hall, the Schulenburg City Council turned to the next option at its meeting Monday, Aug. 17 by calling for a bond election on Nov. 3.After a 35-minute discussion on the agenda item, the aldermen approved the ordinance by a 3-2 vote.
