First Methodist Church to host blood drive on Oct. 8

Second Chance gives to La Grange Railroad Depot

CCA’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Please call 979-743-4036 two weeks in advance for the meals, which will be delivered to the homebound or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Animal Shelter statistics

As of Sept. 8, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,207 for the year– 580 dogs and 627 cats in need. As of Sept. 8, the shelter had 127 animals in its care – 70 dogs and 57 cats.

Men invited to ‘That Man Is You’ sessions on Fridays

Approximately 50 to 60 men meet at 6:30 a.m. on Fridays at St. Rose of Lima in Schulenburg because they want to be better men, husbands, sons and fathers. They struggle to make sense of what is going on in today’s culture, and felt alone going through these things.

Since 2015, the Fayette Community Foundation (FCF) has awarded $43,500 to nonprofit programs enhancing local arts, culture, social welfare, health, conservation and education. FCF’s 2023 Community Impact Grant cycle is now open and will close Sept. 30, accessible through its new online portal.
