The Gardenia E. JanssenAnimal Shelter hours of operation are as follows: open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday for all normal operations.On Monday, the shelter is closed to the public but staff is on-site for animal care from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Funeral services for Grace Sumbera, 83, of St. John will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2026 from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John.Interment will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.The family will receive friends beginning at 5 p.m. with the rosary to be recited at 7 p.m.

CCA Meals

CCA “Meals on Wheels,” located at First Baptist Church, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound,or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

Sr. Connections reveals La Grange satellite location

Senior Connections is excited to announce that the Randolph Recreation Center in La Grange will be its third satellite. Many comments have been received from La Grange residents asking Senior Connections to open a satellite there. Starting Aug. 5, the satellite will be open every Wednesday from 9 a.

Tri-County Friends of NRA event slated for July 24

The 22nd annual Tri-County Friends of NRA event will be held on Friday, July 24 at the Schulenburg KC Hall. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for games, drawings, live auction and fun.Individual tickets are $30. Reserved tables are available and anyone interested should call for more information.
