Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $10,000 to the Schulenburg Area Food Pantry. Monies granted will be used to build a concrete ramp on the west side of the Pantry leading out to the parking lot. This ramp will be used to bring food donations in and out of the building.

Six Fayette County elementary schools recently received an illustrated book, Texas: Before the Lone Star, that will provide a valuable tool for teachers teaching about what was happening in Texas from the 1600s through just before the Battle of the Alamo.

Members of the Knights of Columbus from the Victoria Diocese, which consists of councils from Flatonia, Moulton, Schulenburg, Weimar, Columbus and 27 others, attended the Texas State Council Convention in Corpus Christi from Friday through Sunday, April 25-27. The 32 Victoria Diocese councils received Quick Start Award for reaching their state charities goal and state per capita before Dec. 31.
