Sr. Connections weekly update: exciting activities await

Senior Connections is the gathering place for active seniors in Fayette, Colorado and Lavaca counties. Everyone age 55 and up is welcome to the Schulenburg, Weimar and Flatonia locations. Doors are open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on program days, so feel free to drop by anytime!

Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located at First Baptist Church, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound. Meals should be ordered two weeks in advance and will be delivered to the homebound, or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

The St. Anne’s Society High Hill recently presented donations to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic School building fund, St. Rose Parish CCD, St. Rose Parish youth group, seminarian fund, Sisters of Divine Providence and St. Mary’s Catholic Church-High Hill choir.
Two bingo callers for the price of one – Jaime Janda (left) filled in for Elizabeth Fox (right) from Freyburg Hall until she could arrive. She is sporting a jar of cookies baked by members. Members are also reminded to bake more cookies to give to the speakers and bingo callers to thank them for their time and energy!

Sr. Connections: gathering place for active srs.

As the vibrant gathering place for active seniors in Fayette, Colorado and Lavaca counties, Senior Connections wishes a heartfelt Happy Father’s Day to all fathers, grandfathers and greatgrandfathers, and hopes they all have a wonderful weekend surrounded by family and friends.

Animal Shelter statistics

As of June 6, total intake for 2025 at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 782 – 362 dogs and 420 cats in need.As of June 6, the shelter had 172 animals in its care – 74 dogs and 98 cats.
