Combined CommunityAction’s “Meals on Wheels,” located in the Civic Center, serves frozen congregate meals or frozen meals to the homebound.Please call 979-743-4036 two weeks in advance for the meals, which will be delivered to the homebound or may be picked up at the center on Mondays.

In appreciation of his service of 46 years on its board of directors, Fayette Savings Bank made a $5,000 donation to the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Carmine in honor of Jerry Jacob.“46 years – that pretty much says it all,” said David Zapalac, FSB CEO.

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry received a donation of 164 pounds of food through the annual “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive held on Saturday, May 11 by the local Post Office.

Local Food Pantry serves 122 families during April

The Schulenburg Area Food Pantry served 122 families inApril with a total of 331 individuals. The Pantry had four new clients with a total of nine individuals. The amount of food given out was 6,661 pounds. Food donated was 2,176 pounds. The volunteer hours were 315.
