Guenther wins public speaking contest

Crockett Guenther, a member of the Schulenburg 4-H Club and a seventh grader at Schulenburg Elementary School, competed in the Buc Days Public Speaking Contest in Corpus Christi on Wednesday, May 7.

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $11,000 to St. Rose of Lima Catholic School cafeteria. Monies granted will be used to purchase two convection ovens for the school cafeteria. The cafeteria provides nutritious meals to students attending St. Rose of Lima Catholic School in Schulenburg.

The Schulenburg Literary Club held its May luncheon at Bella Sera Restaurant in Schulenburg. Attendees enjoyed a delicious Italian meal and lots of camaraderie at this annual event. Honored guests were Avery Helms and Madyson Holub, the 2025 club scholarship recipients.

ARTS sets summer camps

Twenty-two Fayette County 4-H members competed in the District 11 4-H Livestock Judging Contest held on Saturday, May 3 in College Station and won the District 11 4-H sweepstakes award for the third consecutive year.The Fayette County 4-H livestock judging team is coached by JoJo and Kaci Carrales.

The Schulenburg FFA held its annual banquet on Thursday, May 8, celebrating the accomplishments of members and looking forward to the great things to come next year. The banquet included scholarship presentations, awards presentations and other recognition.
