Fayette County 4-H members participated in the District 11 4-H Spring Spectacular Contest on Thursday and Friday, May 1 and 2 in Victoria. Events included Public Speaking, Educational Presentations, Fashion Show, 4-H Has Talent, Duds to Dazzle and Consumer Decision Making.

Zane Brenek signs U.S. Navy commitment

Zane Brenek (front center) signed a four-year commitment to serve in the U.S. Navy on Thursday, May 1. He will receive GI bill pay, housing and health insurance, and as a senior he automatically gets $10,000. His enlistment bonus and benefits amount to $260,000.

Valchar earns LSC track & field weekly award at ASU

Angelo State University track and field athletes Kobi Valchar from Schulenburg, along with Fedra Florentin of Filadelfia, Paraguay, have been named the Lone Star Conference Outdoor Field Athletes of the Week for Week 5 of the season, ending April 20.
