Crockett Guenther, a member of the Schulenburg 4-H Club, competed in the San Angelo Livestock Show Agricultural Public Speaking Contest on Feb. 1. Guenther was fourth overall in the junior dividion and his topic was “Marketing Behind the Label.”

Applications available for Fayette A&M scholarship

Seniors of Fayette County high schools and past graduates of the county’s schools, who are currently enrolled in a junior college or other institution of higher learning and planning to attend Texas A&M University, are strongly encouraged to apply for the Fayette County Texas A&M Scholarship.

Nine Fayette County 4-H teams competed in the San Antonio Livestock Show & Rodeo Food Challenge contest on Thursday, Feb. 6.The teams/results are: •Simmer Down, competing in the junior division, captured first in the side dish category and advanced to the final round.

Landry Zapalac, a Schulenburg FFA member, earned reserve champion cow with Zap-Tex Dynamite Sizzle 712 in the Brown Swiss breed at the 2025 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) on Tuesday, Jan. 21.The 2025 show, held Jan. 17 through Feb.
