November is National Adoption Month, and CASA of Bastrop, Fayette & Lee Counties is celebrating and supporting the many families in the community who have welcomed a child into their home through adoption – with a special spotlight on adoption by relatives.

During last week’s STEM project at the Schulenburg Unit of the Boys & Girls Club, members mixed baking soda, vinegar and food coloring to make fizzing Halloween magic potions. It was a spooky good time! Shown are Club members Valdemar Pineda (left) and Braxton Spradley (right).

Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites, located just south of La Grange off Highway 77, will host a grand opening ceremony for its new educational playground on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 5 p.m.
