St. Rose starts 2024-25 with orientation Aug. 6, classes resuming Aug. 8

The St. Rose of Lima Catholic School family gathered in the gym on Tuesday, Aug. 6 for the annual back-to-school orientation and open house. Fr. Augustine Owusu-Peprah opened with prayer and principal Rosanne Gallia gave a welcome message.

Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree given

Callene Zapalac, James Sommer and Mark Olsovsky were nominated by the Schulenburg FFA and awarded the Honorary Lone Star FFA Degree at the 96th annual Texas FFA State Convention held July 8-12 in Houston at the George R Brown Convention Center.

Schulenburg ISD ag teachers Amy Hartman (left) and Brad Lux (right) received tenure awards at the Agriculture Teachers Association of Texas conference held in Dallas from July 22-26.Lux is celebrating 30 years and Hartman is celebrating 25 years as agriculture science teachers.
The Stanzel Family Foun dation awarded the Dale Kirn Memorial Scholarship to (from left) Zoe Barnett of Schulenburg Elementary, Levi Johnson of St. Rose of Lima Catholic School, Eli Ulrich of Schulenburg Elementary, Felix Picon of Weimar Elementary and Easton Rosas of Weimar Elementary. The scholarship allowed these students to attend Camp Invention in La Grange
