Klare Segura, a senior at Schulenburg High School, earned a position on the Texas National High School rodeo team and traveled with fellow teammates to Rock Springs, Wyoming, July 14-20 to compete at the 76th annual National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR).

Second Chance Emporium (SCE) recently donated $3,000 to be a sponsor of the Back 2 School Festival held by Tejas Health Care. Monies donated will provide backpacks, prefilled with school supplies, for students in need to help them be successful in the classroom.

County 4-H’ers take part in Texas 4-H Roundup

Twelve Fayette County 4-H members took part in the 2024 Texas 4-H Roundup at Texas AM University in College Station from June 4-6.Texas 4-H Roundup is the pinnacle event for Texas 4-H, with senior 4-H members competing in approximately 50 diverse contests.

Stanzel Family Foundation welcomes 18 new Stanzel Scholars at social

The Stanzel Family Foundation held its third annual Scholar Social on Thursday, July 11, welcoming 18 new Stanzel Scholars.The event took place at the Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum in Schulenburg.

Fayette County 4-H’ers attend Texas 4-H Congress

Texas 4-H Congress was held in Austin at the State Capitol from July 14-17.Attending from Fayette County were Reagan Moreau, Harper Mau, Logan Poncik and Cooper Mau, all members of the Fayetteville 4-H.Cooper Mau served on the leadership team and was chosen Speaker of the House.

Tricycle races and kiddie parade planned at Festival

The Schulenburg Festival tricycle races and kiddie parade will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3.Both events will take place at Wolters Park under the pavilion on the dance floor.The tricycle races will start at 11 a.m.
