Legacy Rebels holds showcase for Blue Lightning all-star cheer team

Legacy Rebels held an endof- season showcase for its Blue Lightning elite all-star cheer team on Friday, April 5 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Legacy Rebels gym. The Blue Lightning team consists of Brooklyn Beeman, Lexi Pilat, Bebe Pavlica, Lennon Demel, Paisley Baladez and Ava Baladez.
Fastest runners – Keegan Escamilla (left) of Columbus, fastest overall with a time of 18:59, and Judy Ashlynd (right), fastest female with a time of 25:05.

Results given for 5K hosted by ACCSS at Sausagefest

ACCSS (Alliance for College & Career Student Success) held its first-ever 5K race in conjunction with Sausagesfest on April 6. Athletes traveled from as far as Austin and Round Rock and as near as a few blocks from the start line. Chip timing was provided by Run Texas Timing Services.

Turtle Wing Games are being hosted by high school softball and baseball teams throughout the area, during which a child enrolled in special education gets throw out the first pitch.

Blinn slates FAFSA Night

The Blinn College-Schulenburg will hold FAFSA Night on Monday, April 15 at 5:30 p.m. in Liberal Arts Building Room 127. A financial aid specialist will be available for consultations in completing the 2024-25 FAFSA(FreeApplication for Federal Student Aid) forms. No appointments are necessary.

NHS holds induction; seniors get NHS stoles

The Schulenburg High School Chapter of the National Honor Society held its annual induction ceremony on Wednesday, March 27. During the ceremony, 19 new members were inducted.

St. Rose eighth graders attend Chrism Mass in Victoria during Holy Week

On Tuesday, March 26 of Holy Week, the St. Rose of Lima Catholic School eighth graders attended the Chrism Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Victory in Victoria. It was a beautiful celebration with the bishop and all of the priests and deacons of the Victoria Diocese coming together.
