Habitat seeks entries in gr. 1-6 coloring contest

The Fayette County Habitat for Humanity Christmas coloring contest is now open. No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this contest. The contest is open to children in grades 1-6. Each entry consists of a completed, official coloring page.

Knights of Columbus donate to St. Rose School bus fund

Schulenburg Knights of Columbus Council 2902 recently made a donation in the amount of $5,000 to the St Rose School bus fund. The funds were raised at the annual “Moo and Cluck” meal. Council 2902 thanks all of the area supporters for supporting the KC fundraisers.

During the arts and crafts program last week at the Schulenburg Unit of the Boys & Girls Club, members were able to paint their own pumpkins. They were able to use their creativity to decorate their pumpkins any way they liked.

In last week’s STEM project, Schulenburg Boys & Girls Club members did the Walking Water experiment. Members used two glasses with water in each, paper towels and food coloring. The water is able to travel through the gaps in the paper towel fibers and “walk” into an empty jar.

Winners in Fayette County Fair Commercial Heifer Show announced

The Fayette County Fair Commercial Heifer Show and Sale took place on Friday and Saturday,Aug. 25 and 26. Atotal of 61 Fayette County 4-H and FFA members competed in recordbook/interview, herdsman quiz and salesmanship contest.
