Rural South Central Texas PAT observes Nat’l PAT Day

Parents As Teachers of Rural South Central Texas (formerly ParentsAs Teachers Schulenburg-Weimar) celebrated National PAT Day on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Teachers, students and families wore masks for the theme “Unmasking Potential with PAT” in order to spread awareness of the program.

Derik and Colleen Kubenka of Moravia proudly announce the arrival of their second child, a baby boy, Carson Joe. Carson made his debut on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at 5:46 pm at Gonzales Memorial Hospital in Gonzales. He weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces and measured 21 inches in length.

Last week, Members of the Schulenburg Unit of the Boys & Girls Club members enjoyed making Thanksgiving cards for residents at College Place Assisted Living in Schulenburg.
Briana Adams (right) was joined by Marley Vasek (left) for a performance at Holman Valley Steakhouse that raised funds for three animal welfare organizations in the area. Adams is a singer/songwriter who grew up in Winchester and has been touring all over Texas for the past 12 years.

Vasek celebrates 10th birthday with benefit concert for animal groups

A wonderful evening of fun, talent and raising funds for three nonprofits was enjoyed on Saturday, Nov. 11 at Holman Valley Steakhouse. This all came about when Marley Vasek had an idea for her 10th birthday that is somewhat unusual for a young lady of her age.
