Round Top library chess tournament

The Round Top Family Library will host a chess tournament on Saturday, Nov. 4. Check-in and registration will be from 9 to 9:15 a.m. There will be two divisions – primary division for ages 5-15 and senior division for ages 16 and up.

Crockett Guenther, a Schulenburg 4-H member, recently competed in the Heart of Texas and State Fair of Texas public speaking contests and won the championship in the junior division at both contests. His presentation was over rumination.

Heart of Texas livestock judging held

Twenty-five Fayette County 4-H members competed in the Heart of Texas Fair & Rodeo Livestock Judging Contest on Sunday, Oct. 8 in Waco. Results for the Fayette County 4-H participants, and clubs to which they belong, were: •Junior Maroon Team – Champion junior team. Team members: Abraham McBride.
