Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter statistics

As of Sept. 15, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,251 for the year– 596 dogs and 655 cats in need. As of Sept. 15, the shelter had 141 animals in its care – 62 dogs and 79 cats.

Police Report

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that officers responded to 74 calls for service and three reportable incidents were investigated during the week of Sept. 10-16. Included were possession of controlled substance, assisting Fayette County Sheriff’s Office with pursuit, and information.

Pesticide applicator training slated Oct. 5 in La Grange

A pesticide applicator training has been scheduled for Thursday Oct. 5 at the Fayette County Agricultural Building, 255 Svoboda Lane in La Grange. Registration will begin at 7:45 a.m., with the program beginning promptly at 8 a.m.
