Sheriff’s Report

August 2023 Sheriff Keith Korenek reports these activities of Fayette County deputies for August. Sgt. Ron Naumann took a report of littering which occurred in Fayetteville. Video footage captured the subject discarding trash out of a moving vehicle.

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that officers responded to 64 calls for service and four reportable incidents were investigated during the week of Sept. 3-9. Included were fraud, theft and reckless damage. •Sept. 4 – Officer Powe took a report of fraud.

Sept. sales tax allocations total $1.1 billion

Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced on Thursday, Sept. 7 that he was sending cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for September, 3.4 percent more than in September 2022.
