Three donations of $250,000 each – one to the Fayette County EMS, one to the Fayette County Sheriff's Department and one to the La Grange Volunteer Fire Department – were presented on Monday, Sept. 11 by a charitable trust, with Steve Hillhouse as its representative.

Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter statistics

As of Sept. 15, total intake at the Gardenia E. Janssen Animal Shelter stood at 1,251 for the year– 596 dogs and 655 cats in need. As of Sept. 15, the shelter had 141 animals in its care – 62 dogs and 79 cats.
