The Fayette County Commissioners Court designated the week of May 21-27 as Emergency Medical Services Week in Fayette County by signing a proclamation on Thursday, May 11.

Recycle Center location in Schulenburg has new hrs.

The Fayette County Recycling Center Schulenburg location has the following new hours: •Mondays and Wednesdays from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. •Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is hoped that by adding the new Friday hours this will help alleviate some of the congestion on Saturday mornings.

The Fayette County Tax Assessor/ Department of Motor Vehicles for titling and registration, is moving to 143 North Main St. in La Grange (next to Lukas Bakery, west of the Courthouse). The office will be closed on Wednesday, May 10 to move and will reopen on Thursday, May 11.

Deputy finds 24 open beer bottles, drugs, weapon during traffic stop

Two Houston men were arrested on drug and weapon charges following a traffic stop on Highway 71 near West Point on Thursday, May 4, according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Kornek. Sheriff Korenek reports that around 11:19 p.m.

HHSC gives Medicaid renewal reminder
