Texas awards first $400 million in school vouchers State officials began sending out the first notices to families awarded education vouchers last week, the Houston Chronicle reported. In the first round, 42,644 qualified, mostly students with special needs who are considered the highest priority.

Sticker garners 11 awards in two press assn. contests

Two regional press associations held their joint annual conventions April 16-18 in Port Lavaca. Each invited members to enter work from 2025 in “better newspaper” contests prior to the event and the Sticker brought home a total of 11 awards.

Fayette County added to Prairie View A&M community, economic development program

At its meeting last Thursday, the Fayette County Commissioners Court heard about the extension program specializing in community and economic development at Prairie View A&M University Extension which is being extended to Fayette County.
