Hunter Safety Certification Class scheduled in Weimar

To hunt in Texas, any person born after Sept. 1, 1971 is required to obtain an official hunter education certificate. Friends of the Weimar Public Library will offer a Hunter Safety Certification Class on Saturday, Sept. 17.

Traffic stop leads to pursuit, drug arrest

The Fayette County Narcotics Unit attempted to stop a 2016 red Chevrolet Cruze for a traffic violation on FM 609 near Business Highway 71 in La Grange on Tuesday,Aug. 23 around 7:46 a.m. after which a pursuit ensued, according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Cocaine found during traffic stop on I-10 near Flatonia

A cocaine arrest was made after Drug Interdiction Investigator David Smith conducted a traffic stop on Interstate 10 eastbound at the 663 mile marker near Flatonia on Tuesday, Aug. 23, according to Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Great State Republicans to meet Aug. 29
