The Fayette County Commissioners Court approved a proclamation recognizing the week of Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week. Sept. 17, 2022 marks the 235th anniversary of the framing of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention.

August 2022 Sheriff Keith Korenek reports these activities of Fayette County deputies for August.  Detective Marc Bennett is working with CPS in reference to multiple child neglect cases. Bennett is also investigating a credit card abuse case involving an elderly victim.  Sgt.

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that officers responded to 170 calls for service and two reportable incidents were investigated during the week of Sept. 3-9. Included  were one counterfeit bills, and one family violence call. •Sept.

Following traffic laws and staying focused can prevent unthinkable tragedy on the road, yet in Texas, pedestrian and bicyclist fatalities continue to rise. In 2021 in Texas, 841 people died in pedestrian-related traffic crashes, an increase of 15 percent from 2020.
