Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced on Wednesday, Oct. 12 that he was sending cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.06 billion in local sales tax allocations for October, 17.4 percent more than in October 2021.

NCRS seeks applicants for pathways internships

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is currently seeking applicants for collegiate student internships across Texas. Student trainee positions include soil conservationists, soil scientists, rangeland management specialists and engineers.

Vehicle, foot pursuit end in arrest of Bastrop man

Fayette County narcotics investigators made an arrest after attempting to stop a white 2003 Chevrolet SUV for a traffic violation in the Cedar Creek subdivision on Hrbacek street in the north part of La Grange on Wednesday, Oct. 5 around 12:15 p.m., according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.
