Hay show set at County Fair

The Schulenburg Young Farmers will hold their 55th annual hay show on Wednesday, Aug. 31 and Thursday, Sept. 1 in conjunction with the Fayette County Fair. Judging will take place at 1 p.m. on Aug. 31 at the Emily Fritsch Pavilion at the Fairgrounds in La Grange. The hay sale will begin at 8 p.m.

DSHS gets nearly 15,000 monkeypox vaccines The Texas Department of State Health Services has received and distributed 14,780 doses of the monkey pox vaccine to local health departments and DSHS regional offices. Another 27,000 doses could be made available by the Strategic National Stockpile.

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that officers responded to 91 calls for service and three reportable incidents were investigated during the week of July 23-29. Included  were one 911 hang-up, one information call and one assault.  •July 25 – Sgt.

Sheriff's Office receives grant from NRA groups

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office has received a grant from the NRA Foundation and Friends of NRA in the amount of $4,500, according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.

Legion and Auxiliary had monthly meetings July 5

American Legion McBride Post 143 and Auxiliary held their monthly meetings on Tuesday, July 5. Vice Commander Ed Semler called the meeting to order with 37 Legion members, no guests and six Auxiliary members in attendance.

Sticker single-issue price increasing in Aug.

Coinciding with the start of the Sticker’s 129th year of publication, its single-issue price will be increased for the first time in over 15 years. Beginning with the Thursday, Aug. 4 issue, which will be distributed to stores and racks on Aug. 3, a copy of the Sticker will cost $1.
