EMS week proclaimed in Fayette County

The Fayette County Commissioners Court signed a proclamation on Thursday, May 14 designating May 17-23 as Emergency Medical Services Week in Fayette County.

Food manager training course set

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Fayette County is offering a two-day professional food manager certification training course, “Food Safety: It’s Our Business,” on Monday and Tuesday, June 22-23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fayette County Ag Building, 255 Svoboda Lane, La Grange.

Fayette Co. Republican Women to meet May 20

The Fayette County Republican Women will host Pastor Ketrich Steger on Wednesday, May 20 at the FrischAuf! Country Club in La Grange. The meeting will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is free to all. Lunch is available for $20.

Sales tax allocations for May total $1.4 billion

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced on Wednesday, May 6 that he was sending cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.4 billion in local sales tax allocations for May, 7.7 percent more than in May 2025.
