In 2026, America will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.Asignificant part of those 250 years includes military service and veteran contributions to their communities after service.

DAR/SAR recognize flag displays of Alexanders

The John Everett Chapter DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) and Robert Rankin Chapter SAR (Sons of the American Revolution) recognized Dale and Doreen Alexander for their many American flag displays around Columbus. The award was given as the monthly flag display recognition for December.

Spring coyote control contest to begin Jan. 6

The Fayette County spring coyote control program will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 6 and conclude at noon on Thursday, April 30.The contest is being held to give landowners, producers and sportsmen an opportunity to assist in the control of coyotes in Fayette County.
