Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that during the week of Oct. 19-25, officers responded to 92 calls for service and four reportable incidents were investigated as follows: •Oct. 19 – Officer Powe responded to I-10 westbound near mile marker 677 in reference to assisting another agency.

Feral hog contest set

The Fayette County winter feral hog contest will begin on Saturday, Nov. 1 and conclude at noon on Monday, Jan. 5, 2025.The contest is being held to give landowners, producers and sportsmen an opportunity to control feral hogs in Fayette County.

Four VFDs respond to house fire

A 911 call reporting a structure fire on FM 389 near Goebel Road in the Round Top area was received by the Fayette County Sheriff's Office on Monday, Oct. 13 around 6:20 p.m., according to Sheriff Keith Korenek.
