Ballot order drawn for 17 proposed amendments

Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson on Wednesday, June 25 drew the ballot order for the 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution. Texans will vote on these amendments as a part of the Nov. 4 Election.

Pawsome Pet Grooming and Spa, located at 912 Baumgarten St., held a ribbon cutting on Friday, June 13.The ribbon cutting was held in conjunction with an open house from 3 to 7 p.m. that day.

Hunter safety certification class set July 17 in Weimar

Friends of the Weimar Public Library will offer a hunter safety certification class on Thursday, July 17. Any person born after Sept. 1, 1971 is required to have this certification card to hunt in Texas.

Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek reports that during the week of June 15-20, officers responded to 81 calls for service and five reportable incidents were investigated as follows: •June 16 – Officer Vincent responded to the police department for a report of theft.

Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced on Wednesday, June 11 that he was sending cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for June, 6.1 percent more than in June 2024.
